Several people have commented on my slideshow (created hurriedly!) beneath this posting.   A couple of the images are from a heavenly, formal garden called Rymans.  It is open again under the National Gardens Scheme in early September.  Here are a couple more.   Wow, the owner is a talented lady.

Here are a few images from a magnificent, Italian style garden created by Mr and Mrs Procter.   Understandably, it has been used several times as a film and photography location!

This garden’s owner, Mrs Barnes, was awarded ‘BBC Gardener of the Year’ in 2009 – and I can see why.   There was something quite magical about the early morning mist rising off the landscaped lake.

Sadly I’ve been too busy to dedicate much time to my website; it’s a notoriously special time of year for gardens!   So here’s just a few images from recent shoots that I love the most (apologies that I can’t name  their names just for now)…

A fairly modestly-sized garden, yet it’s amazing how much Mr and Mrs Young have crammed in.   It contains an incredibly pretty border, and there are lovely details throughout.   This is a brand new NGS open garden this year.   More info on visiting times can be found on the NGS website, under ‘Longlands’ (you may have to wait ’til next year now!).

A visually enchanting garden with many features.   Mr and Mrs Browne, the lovely owners, have worked tirelessly on the landscaping and planting.  The evening light was also very beautiful.

I was fortunate enough to visit Palatine Primary School – a school with a wide range of special educational needs.   The gardens, I’m sure like the school itself, are an inspiration.  A calm, pretty place with lots of different areas for the students and staff to relax, unwind and socialise in their break-times.  The outdoors clearly also features widely in their curriculum, including vegetable and fruit boxes.    I was kept company by a family of foxes.   (It’s not a great photo of them, just grabbed quickly before they spotted me!)

This mature, extensive garden is full of interest around every corner.    New under the NGS this year, owned by Mr and Mrs Andrews.

This delightful garden is owned by the delightful (and very hospitable) Mr and Mrs Dugdill.  It is also run as an acclaimed B&B.   What grabbed my attention the most were the collection of colourful containers.   A fantastic place, and new to the NGS this year.

I first visited Copyhold Hollow, near Haywards Heath, a few years ago – and decided to return.   It is a uniquely atmospheric, mystical place – hard to describe.    The owner, Frances Druce, runs it as a B&B – what an amazing place to spend a night or two!

The flare has taken over the first photo – but I like the effect!
